After London, Milan, and Paris I have now arrived back home, to the tree house, in Berlin.
Before preparing physically (push ups & sit ups) and psychologically (motivational talk with Detlef D! Soost) for the live performance of “MY GIRL” (Dandy Diary Fashion Week Opening Party) let’s take a look at the schedule of Berlin Fashion Week.
This season, too there is of course our list of shows that you shouldn’t miss by any means, and designers whose shows you should steer clear of (more on that later by Jakob).
#1: Julian Zigerli
Julian Zigerli Spring/Summer 2014 – Preview – Pic by Lauren Burst
Julian Zigerli has a spot secured in the “Must-Go-Shows” of Dandy Diary. This year his name also pops up on the official schedule for the first time. The Swiss designer is among the strongest men’s fashion designers in the German-speaking area. We met Zigerli coincidentally after the Versace Show in Milan and was wearing a look from his new collection. It looked promising, that much we can say. When? Tuesday, 2 July, 7pm. Where? Cruise & Callas Gallery (Köpenicker Straße 187/188).
#2: Franziska Michael
Franzsika Michael Autumn/Winter 2013
Last season Franziska Michael showed her men’s designs in the studio of Berlin Fashion Week for the first time. Before that we have to admit, we did not know the works of the Esmod graduate but her “Fairy Tales” Autumn/Winter 2013 show managed to impress us for both her designs but also the set design of her installation. That’s why we’re looking forward to finding out what Michael has come up with for Spring/Summer 2014. When? Mittwoch, 3 July, 2pm Where? Stage in the Fashion Week tent.
SOPOPULAR Autumn/Winter 2014
Another show you should not miss under any circumstances is SOPOPULAR. You can check out what Daniel Blechmann’s designs look like on real men, far away from the catwalk here, here, and here. SOPOPULAR is known for ready-to-wear men’s fashion with a rough touch, and also for their brilliant lookbooks that impress with top-notch model casting. More information on SOPOLUAR in this interview. When? Tuesday, 2 July, 2pm Where? Stage in the Fashion Week tent.
