“Business of Fashion”: The 500 most important people in fashion

Website Business of Fashion have compiled a list with the 500 most important people in fashion.

What’s shocking is that DANDY DIARY are not among the three German mentions. Neither is Karl Lagerfeld.*

The three top German fashion people instead of Karl and us are: Jörg Koch (032c Magazine), Jil Sander (Jil Sander) and Claus-Dietrich Lahrs (Hugo Boss).

In general the most “movers & shapers” are from the US (149) with a large lead followed by the UK (104) and France (66). The Americans are missing the cool megalomaniac Kanye West who we would have definitely included in the top 500.

According to the “Business of Fashion” ranking it is mainly designers (118) shaping the fashion world, followed by executives (94) and the only vaguely defined “Creative Class” (93).

Bloggers are also represented – the well-known stars of the scene: Bryan Boy, Chiara Ferragni, Diane Pernet, Garance Doré, Susie Bubble, Tommy Ton,  and Scott Schuhman.

Also interesting: Brazilian designer Pedro LourenCo is the youngest in the list albeit being 23 years of age. Iris Apfel (92) is the oldest.

Perhaps we were just to young for the ranking with our eternal 21 years.

*Karl Lagerfeld is of course in the list. Which we do regret a lot. We would have loved to not be ion the ranking together with him. Lagerfeld is listed as French.
