Copenhagen Fashion Week: Soulland A/W 2013

Silas Adler, the head of Soulland, went back in time again for his new collection “Home vs. Away”. He looked into the Japanese baseball tradition at the at the beginning of the 19th century.

Button down shirts embroidered with “Home” and “Away” depict a reference to the importance of the Japanese loyalty towards their teams. Baseball, as seen at Soulland, but also Basketball and Football are again a huge theme in the fashion industry for Fall/Winter 2013/14.

And there is no end in sight for the megatrend sports. Soulland also featured baseball jackets, chinos with white spots, shorts worn above leggings (the bike courier look). The bags presented originate from a cooperation of Soulland with Adax, a Danish bag manufacturer.

As expected the collection was literally ready to wear. Our highlight of this collection was the key piece – the shirt with the embroidered “Home” on the chest.

The show itself wasn’t as spectacular as the two pervious Soulland shows. For the Imperial collection there was a staged model casting in a dodgy suburb of Moscow and for last summer’s show the old villa serving as the location was very convincing.

Those who want to shop Soulland in Berlin can pay a visit to Voo and Soto.
